In celebration of International Women’s Day, March 8th, and in recognition of 30-years of women in Rotary, members from all over Rotary District 5870-Central Texas came together for a multi-club service project. This project provided the landscape needs and playground beautification of the Temple Area Family Crisis Shelter. The Temple Families in Crisis (FIC) is a non-profit organization that provides housing, offers support, and empowers people experiencing family violence, sexual violence, and homelessness. FIC envisions families and individuals that experience comfort and safety through the shelter and services of FIC, leading to restoration, wholeness and self-sufficiency. A special moment from the day was when we realized that in attendance was Betty Richardson a 30-year member and the District's most tenured woman in addition to the Districts newest induction Abbigail White. Such a FUN celebration of Women in Rotary & SERVICE ABOVE SELF!
