This past Easter the Killeen-Harker Heights Rotary club put a twist on the traditional Easter Egg Hunt affair. We celebrated Easter at the Kids Club off Trimmier in Killeen on the 23rd of March.
March through April, the Austin Cosmopolitan Rotary Club held its Clean Out Your Closet Campaign collecting gently used handbags, totes, duffel bags, and shoes to benefit survivors of domestic violence, foster care youth, and microbusiness. Benefiting organizations included: Handbags for Hope, Partnerships for Children, and Funds2Org.
The Rotary Club of Austin served pizza to the students at Pecan Springs that participated in a Robot science weekend at the school. Thanks Rotary for helping.
Serving as Treasurer of my Club for many years, I’ve had several new members, or their sponsors or friends, complain that they were not expecting the Club’s requests / expectations of them. For me, most of the time it related to fundraising for the Club’s community services projects or the Rotary Foundation. But this can extend to dues, attendance, Club involvement, etc. Unfortunately, my Club lost a few of these new members after their admission to the Club.
