What is thought to be the longest-running fundraiser in District 5870, the La Grange Pancake Supper, was a huge success on Feb. 2, 2023.
Begun in 1957, the annual Pancake Supper is usually the largest meal event in La Grange, a town of just under 5,000 population. On a cold Thursday night (always the first Thursday in February), Rotarians served up about 500 dine-in guests and 700 meals in the drive-thru lane. That's about one-fourth of the town's entire population.

Due to Covid restrictions, the dine-in aspect had to be eliminated the past couple of years. But this year, not only did Rotarian celebrate the community-building aspect of residents dining together, but also the use for the first time of the brand new cafeteria at the new La Grange Elementary School. Due to school safety restrictions, this was the first time for many residents to see inside the new school.

Funds raised by the event will go to local high school scholarships, other community needs and Rotary humanitarian projects.
