ARC and Harker Heights Rotary Club Unite for Annual Clothing Drive to Support the Homeless Harker Heights, TX – In a heartwarming display of community spirit and service, the Association of Responsible Citizens (ARC) partnered with the Harker Heights Rotary Club for a meaningful service project on March 27th, 2025. The two organizations came together to sort and organize their annual clothing donations for individuals experiencing homelessness in the local area.
Each year, ARC collects gently used clothing items from residents and businesses throughout Harker Heights and surrounding communities. This year, the donation drive saw an overwhelming response, resulting in hundreds of garments—ranging from winter coats and socks to everyday wear—being dropped off for redistribution.
To handle the influx of donations, members of ARC and the Harker Heights Rotary Club rolled up their sleeves and worked side by side. Volunteers spent the time of their normal meeting hours by sorting, folding, and packaging clothing into care bundles tailored to different age groups and sizes. The bundles will be distributed to shelters and outreach programs throughout Bell County in the coming weeks. “The power of Rotary, made the event go quick and smooth,” said ARC Program Director Mike Ryan. The Harker Heights Rotary Club, known for its commitment to service above self, joined the initiative as part of its broader community outreach mission. Club President Isabel Hubbard emphasized the importance of collaborative service.
“When organizations come together like this, the impact is multiplied,” Hubbard said. “We’re proud to support ARC’s ongoing efforts and contribute to making our community a more compassionate and inclusive place.”
The event served not only as a volunteer opportunity but also as a reminder of the power of unity and purpose. Volunteers ranged from long-time club members and ARC clients to local students and first-time participants.
