Now that school has started again, the students in our EAFK schools  are learning their character traits again and will soon be celebrating the honorees in school ceremonies.
Early Act First Knight is an incredible character building program for elementary schools. It teaches the students how to make right choices, to treat each other with respect and kindness, to persevere through tough times (which we all need right now),serve their community and school, and have compassion for all. The students have a trait lesson every day for six weeks taught by their teachers and at the end of the six weeks, the teachers from each class select their student who best represented that trait. The honorees are escorted to the stage in front of the peers and families to receive a medallion from a real knight in armor. The students are very proud of their medallion because they may have never won an award. They also get their picture put up in the hallway in the Gallery of Champions all year. This program has transformed many of our low income schools and provided more valuable teaching time for the teachers. It is a huge success in our district. If your club is interested in sponsoring a school for EAFK, contact Mary Reynolds and come see one of the programs for yourself. I promise you will be moved to tears during these knighting ceremonies.
