A new school year is like a new box of crayons - fresh, bright, and full of potential! However, as many as 5000 elementary and middle school students may not have the resources to start school with a backpack and school supplies this year.
Members of the Northwest Austin Club came together to participate in providing a backpack filled with grade-specific school supplies to reduce the performance gap in our schools based on socio-economic status.
Together with Hill Country Bible Church and Leander ISD, and many others, we handed out over 3,500 backpacks.
