In a heartwarming collaboration aimed at enhancing recreational opportunities for local schoolchildren, South Austin Rotary proudly announces the completion of a Gaga Pit at Sunset Elementary School. This endeavor was made possible through a partnership with the Girl Scout Troop 1984.
The initiative, spearheaded by South Austin in collaboration with the Girl Scout Troop, underscores the organizations' shared commitment to community enrichment and youth development. The Gaga Pit, a popular and inclusive game space, promises to foster physical activity, social interaction, and joyful memories for generations of students.

"We are thrilled to unveil this exciting addition to Sunset Elementary School," remarked Rick Collins, President of South Austin Rotary Club. "Our partnership with the Girl Scout Troop exemplifies the Rotary ethos of service above self. It's all about creating spaces where children can thrive, connect, and have fun."

The Gaga Pit construction project was made possible through the generous contributions of South Austin Rotary members, the Girl Scout Troop, and community volunteers who dedicated their time, resources, and expertise to bring the vision to life. Their collective effort exemplifies the power of collaboration and the profound impact that grassroots initiatives can have on the community.

Katherine Johnson, teacher at Sunset Elementary School expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort, stating, "The Gaga Pit represents more than just a recreational space; it symbolizes the spirit of unity and generosity that defines our community. We are immensely grateful to the Rotary Club, the Girl Scout Troop, and all those involved for their unwavering support."
