On Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., Rotarians across Rotary Zones 25B and 29 will come together for the World's Largest Polio Walk. While thousands of Rotarians will be walking at the same time, each club has the opportunity to make an impact right in its own community.
District 5870 is calling on every Rotary club to help make history by participating in the World's Largest Polio Walk. Whether your club hosts a local walk, joins another club's walk, or participates in the District 5870 Walk at Lake Pflugerville, your involvement demonstrates Rotary's unwavering commitment to ending polio while inspiring your community to join the fight.
One of the best features of the World's Largest Polio Walk is that there is no single formula for success. Your club can host a walk in a downtown park, along a hike-and-bike trail, around a school track, or through your town square. The distance doesn't matter—visibility does. A highly visible walk provides an opportunity to engage your community, share Rotary's story, and highlight our decades-long commitment to eradicating polio.
Local walks can be as simple or as creative as your club chooses. Partner with another Rotary club, invite Interact and Rotaract members, encourage family and friends to participate, or combine your walk with another community event. Clubs may also choose to raise funds through sponsorships, pledges, or other creative ideas to support PolioPlus and Rotary's goal of a polio-free world.
If your club chooses, join us at the District 5870 Walk on October 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Pflugerville, 18216 Weiss Lane, Pflugerville, Texas. This family-friendly event will bring together Rotarians from across the district for fellowship before we walk together in support of one common mission.
Planning resources are available on the District website, with additional information—including commemorative shirt ordering and event updates—added throughout the campaign. We encourage every club to register on the District website, whether hosting a local walk, joining another club's walk, or participating in the District 5870 Walk.
