On April 9, Southwestern University celebrated the dedication of its Peace Garden—one of several across Georgetown and part of a global movement inspired by the message, “May Peace Prevail on Earth.” This meaningful project was brought to life through a collaborative effort between the Southwestern University Rotaract Club, the Racial Unity and Peace Building Committee within the Rotary Club of Georgetown, and community partners.

The Peace Garden now stands as a quiet, intentional space where students, faculty, and community members can reflect, gather, and reconnect with the idea that peace begins with each of us. More than just a physical space, the garden represents Rotary’s enduring commitment to peacebuilding at the local level. By supporting initiatives like this, Rotary continues to foster connection, reflection, and unity—reminding us all that even in a world of turmoil, creating space for peace is both possible and essential!
