May is a significant month in the Rotary calendar as we place a spotlight on Youth Services. Our commitment to developing young people aligns with Rotary’s mission of cultivating leadership, promoting education, and building strong communities. As we look forward to the upcoming Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) event in the first week of July, we encourage all members to participate in and actively support our youth-focused initiatives.
At District 5870, our Youth Services are committed to providing young individuals with opportunities for growth, learning, and leadership development. Here are some ideas for your club to think about:
1. **Preparation for RYLA July Event:** As we gear up for RYLA in July, we’ll be organizing preparatory sessions and briefings to ensure a successful and impactful event. RYLA is a crucial opportunity for young people to develop leadership skills, and we hope to see robust participation from across the district.
2. **Support for Interact Club Projects:** Collaborate with local Interact clubs as they plan and execute community service projects. These initiatives foster teamwork and a sense of service among young individuals.
3. **Mentorship and Networking Programs:** Provide platforms where youths can connect with experienced Rotarians for guidance, support, and learning. Mentorship is a powerful tool in shaping future leaders.
4. **Workshops on Career Development:** Organize sessions that focus on career guidance and skill-building, including resume writing, interviewing skills, and exploring career paths. Empowering youths with the knowledge to make informed decisions is essential for their future success.
Together, we can inspire and prepare our youth to become agents of positive change.
