Three months into the Rotary year, I have visited 46 of the 57 clubs and one satellite club along with numerous other events. I appreciate the warm welcomes.  Frequently, I am asked, “are you enjoying the year”?  My response is a resounding YES! It is a distinct honor to serve all the Rotarians in our district. I am truly humbled.

The message I have tried to convey is about being proud to be a Rotarian. I have talked about sharing our story with others; not only about what we do as Rotarians, but our personal “why” we do the things we do. Engaged Rotarians make a daily difference not only in our local communities, but in the global community. You make me proud.

Year-to-date support for the Rotary Foundation is at an all-time high. As Jim Nabors memes in the movie Gomer Pyle USMC, thank you, thank you, thank you. Don’t let up on the throttle. For those seeking first time Paul Harris Fellow recognition, take advantage of the Jerry Johnson Foundation. For others, consider the Limited Time Offer if eligible. Our goal is to keep the LTO active through year-end, unless all is spoken for sooner.

Two weeks ago, I reached out to you about supporting those suffering from the ravages of Hurricane Florence in the Carolinas. Other events dominate the news, but the suffering and need continues with extensive flooding.

A Donor Advised Fund was established to collect contributions. There was a problem contributing because of a server issue. The problem was quickly repaired. If you tried to contribute and the link did not work, please try again.

We know only too well in Texas the impact caused by life changing devastating storms.
