World Polio Day is nearing – October 24th! I hope your club is planning to host an event. If not, consider partnering with another nearby club. Not only do you raise funds to support the eradication of Polio, you create increased public awareness of Polio and the long-term efforts of Rotary in leading the charge.
We are closer than ever to eradicating Polio, but we’re not done yet. What a remarkable journey from 1,000 cases a day in 1985 to only 15 cases in 2018. Victory is not yet achieved. We must push across the finish line. Complacency is our enemy.

Many of you have heard my story during club visits and how having a good friend in high school with Polio ultimately led me to join Rotary. I don’t want any of our children or grandchildren to have the same story in future years.

Thanks for your efforts and service. Visiting clubs in our district is one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. So many wonderful Rotarians making a difference. You inspire me.
