Happy New Year!
As we enter 2023, I want to thank you for an amazing first half of the year. This year, we have embraced the opportunity to "Imagine Rotary" and have already accomplished so much. If you support our Rotary Foundation Annual Fund, you have played a key role in funding the following District 5870 2022-23 projects:
  • Fully funded a Ukrainian Child Refugee Camp for $19,700 where 55 Rotarian volunteers served for over 350 hours to bring love, joy and community to children displaced from their homes, due to the war in Ukraine
  • Over half of our members participated in the district-wide food packing project held during my official visits. Through that participation, you provided food for 6400 District 5870 children who suffer from weekend hunger.
  • Provided seven vocational scholarships to students in District 5870, totaling $35,000
  • Provided a Global Grant Scholarship in Scotland
  • Provided $100,867 in DAP Grant projects to clubs to support club sponsored service & humanitarian projects
  • Provided $114,220 in Global Grants to club international humanitarian projects
We still have so much more to do and so many ways to connect as we head into the last six months of the Rotary year.  As we begin a new year, I encourage you to attend upcoming events. Take the opportunity at the following events to build relationships with Rotarians across our district who share your same Service Above Self motto. Together, we are able to accomplish so much more!
