Rotary is first and foremost a service organization dedicated to helping the needy and misfortunate around the world. Over the years, many of our members have under taken hands-on service, both locally and an internationally, to further the object of Rotary without any thought that they were doing something extraordinary.

The District 5870 Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award was created to recognize the hands-on service of extremely dedicated Rotarians who have personally worked to make the world a better place.

If your club has a member that has diligently served The Rotary Foundation in some capacity, I hope that you will consider nominating him or her for the District 5870 Distinguished Service Award.

Many of our District members provide service through the Foundation and this is your opportunity to recognize them amongst their peers.  If a District Rotarian is selected, they will be honored at the upcoming District Foundation Gala on January 29th in Georgetown.  However, a Rotarian can only receive the award once.

I hope you will consider a member of your club for this very prestigious award.  The deadline for submission is January 7th to RRFC Rich Kaye.
