This July, the Rotary Club of Killeen is joining forces with three neighboring Rotary clubs to make a meaningful difference in the community through Fans for Seniors, a collaborative service project designed to help older adults stay safe during the summer heat.
Working together, the Rotary Club of Copperas Cove, Rotary Club of Killeen, Rotary Club of Killeen Heights, and Rotary Club of Harker Heights will provide electric fans to local seniors. With the support of local EMS and fire department personnel, the fans will be distributed directly to elderly residents who will benefit from relief during the hottest months of the year.
The idea for this joint initiative was born during the Presidents-Elect Training Seminar (PETS) earlier this year, where the incoming presidents of the four clubs committed to working together on community service projects throughout the 2026–2027 Rotary year. Fans for Seniors marks the first of these collaborative efforts and serves as the July service project for each club.
By combining resources, ideas, and volunteers, these Rotary clubs are demonstrating the power of partnership and the Rotary spirit of Service Above Self. Club leaders are excited about this first project and look forward to continuing their collaboration with future service initiatives that will create an even greater impact across the Killeen area.
Together, these four clubs are proving that when Rotarians work as one, they can make an even bigger difference in the lives of those they serve.
