On Tuesday, 17 December, the Flatonia Rotary Club participated in the Blue Santa wrapping party held at the FF&R fire station, which wrapped presents in record breaking time. On Thursday, 19 December, Instead of a meeting, the Flatonia Rotary Club celebrated Christmas with a fun social and dinner at Edna’s Kitchenette in Downtown Flatonia. They had a surprise visit by Santa and all enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Edna’s.
The following morning on Friday, 20 December, The Rotary Club of Flatonia delivered 2 large baskets of food to Flatonia ISD, for 2 families. The items were all donated by Rotary members and Rotarian Patricia Satterwhite assembled the items in baskets for 2 families. Pat Nickerson, President of Flatonia Rotary, presented the baskets to Chris Sodek, FISD School Superintendent and Robin Branecky, FISD Director of Federal & State Programs, who will dispense the baskets. Sodek and Branecky are also members of The Rotary Club of Flatonia. “Thank you to all the Rotary members who generously donated items for these family Christmas baskets, so we could share our Christmas spirit with others,” remarked Pat Nickerson. "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Flatonia Rotary meetings are held at Robert’s Steakhouse at noon every month on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays.
