A great turnout from the Rotary Club of Austin-Southwest for a Saturday morning of closet cleaning at Common Ground ATX. This place offers affordable housing to those who can’t qualify elsewhere (recently out of prison or coming in off the streets).
The brainchild of a fellow Rotarian,Mickie Powers, it rents to 180 residents at a reasonable rate & provides one room housing & a hot meal per day. The clothing closet, stocked with donations from the community of men’s clothing, shoes, socks & underwear, was in need of more organization, sorting and cleaning out. This is a continuation of the project last month of the Rotary Club of South Austin. We all welcomed pizza & beer afterwards at Pinthouse!
