Members of the Rotary Club of Georgetown recently joined students at Gateway College Prep to dedicate the school’s new Rotary Peace Garden—marking the 16th peace garden established by the club in local schools.

Rotarians Tom, Christie, Danny, Barbara, JoAnn, Brian, and Joe participated in the ceremony alongside members of Gateway’s Interact Club, who helped bring the project to life. The Peace Garden initiative is designed to create a space on campus that encourages reflection, respect, and dialogue—values that align closely with Rotary’s commitment to peacebuilding.
As Peace Garden Team Lead, Joe was given the special honor of placing the final brick, symbolizing the completion of the garden and the continued partnership between Rotary and the next generation of community leaders.

The dedication served as a meaningful reminder that Rotary’s work to promote peace begins locally—one school, one garden, and one group of engaged students at a time.
