The Rotary Club of Georgetown recently had the distinct honor of welcoming Past Rotary International President and Past Chair of The Rotary Foundation Board of Trustees, Mark Maloney, along with his wife, Gay, for a special club visit.
It was particularly meaningful that their visit coincided with a meeting focused on The Rotary Foundation. PRIP Mark spoke passionately about the Foundation’s extraordinary global impact—from the ongoing fight to eradicate polio to advancing peacebuilding efforts. His remarks reminded members that every contribution to the Foundation fuels life-changing work across communities and continents.

Drawing from his experience as both Rotary International President and Foundation Chair, Mark encouraged members not only to give generously but to fully appreciate the reach and responsibility that accompany Rotary’s global mission.
During the visit, Club President Christie was presented with a scarf from Mark’s presidential year—a thoughtful and memorable gesture, especially as it was personally designed by Gay!
The club extends its sincere gratitude to Mark and Gay for their visit, their leadership, and their continued dedication to strengthening The Rotary Foundation and Rotary’s enduring impact worldwide.
