Early one Saturday morning, just before Christmas, the Sunrise Rotary of Georgetown had an invited guest show up for a visit. When Santa Claus arrived, he asked if he could bring his friend Raggedy Ann to the meeting.
Everyone knows the police department's Blue Santa program can always use help with gathering gifts for kids at Christmas, so Santa, Raggedy Ann and the Sunrise members set up a drive-thru “Donation Station” in the parking lot of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home. That morning they collected $878 and filled four huge Blue Santa boxes with toys!
