The Whiteclay Arts Makerspace was cosponsored by Districts 5930 and 5870 in late Rotary year 19-20 and after some COVID delays , the grand opening was this month. Several Native American artists from the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota have been working in the facility for several months and the participation ramp up is going well as is the international marketing on the project’s website.
There will be additional opportunities in the future for Rotary to support this project . The project is located in the poorest County in the US - this will make a difference!
