Have you been able to address your commitment International yet? One of the 5 avenues of service. If not, there is still time for your club to invest in the future of the world. Governor Smith and I wanted to let you know about how your club can participate in this worthwhile activity for your club. These goals can be achieved through various spending approaches.  These seven areas of focus are at the heart of International Projects.
  • Promoting Peace
  • Fighting Disease
  • Providing Clean Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene
  • Saving Mothers and Children
  • Supporting Education
  • Growing Local Economies
  • Protecting the Environment

The best way to start is by reviewing projects listed on the Rotary website's Service Project Center or Grants page.  I use a website called www.matchinggrants.org  You can also find international project on the bulletin board at the District 5872 website. And your fellow presidents in this and other Districts. Several of our clubs are engaging in collaborative efforts with clubs located outside District 5870.   You may also consider supporting a non-Rotary international project.

But if you have e project idea just look at the Global Grant section of the My Rotary website. You may become a Host Partner or an International Partner . All the information regarding Global Grants is also available on this website as well.

When you find a project, you may even invest a comfortable amount depending on your club’s treasury.  A Global Grant minimum amount of the project is $30,000. It is a combination of your funds ,the partner club ,4 other District 5870 clubs ,money contributed by District 5870 and matching form the World Fund. The latter two invest most of the money. Your club and other clubs have invested as little as $50 ? My club has 3 projects and invested about $9000 in all of them. We have received support from the district and the Rotary foundation of over $200,000. Why wait?

Just to remind you our next District 5870 additional funding meeting is March 21 .We need these project applications soon. If you need help, contact your Assistant Governor or  me at jmatera@zfhllc.com.
