Hutto Rotary braved the cold and the wind Saturday, April 7th, along with 400 other volunteers to help with the 2018 Great Hutto Cleanup. An annual event put on by the Keep Hutto Beautiful Foundation, the Great Hutto Cleanup is a day for citizens to help make Hutto a cleaner, better place to live. Citizens can drop off trash, hazardous waste, brush, etc to be disposed of properly. Volunteers line every street and major area cleaning up trash and beautifying common areas.

Hutto Rotary volunteers started as early as 5:00am Saturday cooking breakfast tacos for the volunteers. A group of 7 Rotarians were sent to the Hutto High School Ag Barn to clean up the fence line, shovel manure, and help make it a safe place for our students to work. After a thorough hand washing, Hutto ISD Rotarians served hot dogs for lunch for volunteers.

Although we do not have the exact amount of trash collected, or waste disposed of, we can say that Hutto is blessed to do this event each year and help keep Hutto beautiful. Hutto Rotary Club was glad to volunteer, and are proud to have such willing servants in our group. Service before Self really does ring true.
