The next story of Rotary impact begins with what we choose to do today. Every Rotary project begins with a real person and a real need.
A single mother receives a scholarship and the opportunity to build a better future. An elderly woman receives a wheelchair and the freedom to leave her home. A child receives a vaccine and the chance to grow up free from polio. These are not simply projects. They are lives changed through the generosity of Rotarians and the power of The Rotary Foundation.
A Challenge Unlike Any Before
This year, District Governor Jeff Coleman has challenged District 5870 to Do Better Than Our Best by reaching two ambitious Foundation goals:
$1 million for the Annual Fund-SHARE—approximately $519 per Rotarian.
$58.70 per Rotarian for PolioPlus.
Our district has never raised $1 million for the Annual Fund-SHARE in a single Rotary year. It is a bold, unprecedented goal and an unprecedented opportunity to fund scholarships, strengthen communities, support Global Grants, and transform lives across Central Texas and around the world.
Combined with our commitment to PolioPlus, it can also help move Rotary closer to fulfilling its promise of a polio-free world.
Imagine the impact we could create.
Two Funds, One Shared Purpose
Annual Fund-SHARE contributions help fund District Assistance Program (DAP) Grants, CTE Scholarships, district service projects, and Global Grants. The funds return to our district after three years - the projects we create tomorrow begin with the gifts we make today.
PolioPlus contributions provide vaccines, disease surveillance, education, and the infrastructure needed to reach vulnerable children as Rotary works to fulfill its promise of a polio-free world.
Two funds. One shared purpose. Turning generosity into action - and action into lives changed.
What If Every Rotarian Accepted the Challenge?
A $1 million Annual Fund goal may sound overwhelming when viewed as one large number. But Rotary has never depended on one person doing everything. Rotary succeeds because each of us chooses to do something.
Could you increase your investment in the Annual Fund-SHARE, make your first contribution to PolioPlus, become a recurring donor through Rotary Direct, or encourage your club to set stronger Foundation goals?
No single Rotarian will reach these goals. But together, we can.
The Next Story Begins With Us
The details of our limited-time Annual Fund-SHARE Matching Campaign appear elsewhere in this newsletter. It is a wonderful opportunity to move closer to your next Paul Harris Fellow recognition while helping fuel the projects of tomorrow. But recognition is only part of the story. The true value of our giving is found in the opportunities it creates, the suffering it prevents, and the lives it changes.
This year, we can do something District 5870 has never done before. We can reach $1 million for the Annual Fund-SHARE, contribute at least $58.70 per Rotarian to PolioPlus, fund more projects, open more doors, protect more children, and create more stories of hope.
The next project begins with us. The next child protected begins with us. The next story of Rotary impact begins today.
Together, let’s Do Better Than Our Best—igniting impact today and creating lasting impact for generations to come.
