After more than nine months of recruiting, the new Texas Hill Country Rotary Passport Club acquired the necessary number of charter members (20-plus).  We had 22 total charter members in our application) when we submitted it to Rotary International two weeks ago.  We have been greatly assisted in this process by the leadership of the recently chartered North Austin Metro Rotary Passport Club (first Passport club in the district) and District Governor Rick Stacy and Monique Hodges, Corsicana Rotary, both of them members of the District 5870 New Membership Task Force.
"We are delighted to be part of 5870 and look forward to being an active force in community service and Rotary activities in Hill Country," said Erik Peterson, newly elected club president.  "We have a great board of officers and terrific membership, that is still growing.  We look forward to associations with other clubs in the district and being a productive force as soon as possible.  Our members, many who are former Rotarians, are eager to get active again with this new Passport club.  Thanks again to all who helped."
