This will be our last Monthly Membership Moment for this Rotary Year. This is also my last month as District Membership Chair. It has been an honor and privilege to serve you all for the last three years. I want to thank all the members of our membership committee for their service during this time. I also want to thank all of you for your efforts in trying to grow Rotary so we can sustain our wonderful organization in the future.
As we transition to the next rotary year, I want to challenge all of you to continue your efforts to Grow Rotary. Under the leadership of our incoming DMC, PDG Bob Crouch, I know you will continue your efforts and support for Bob.
I want to leave you with the following thoughts I received from our DGND Rod Henry. This is a wonderful thought about Why Rotary.
Why did you join the world’s largest service club in the first place? What drove you to join your local Rotary Club?
Was it the meal whether breakfast, lunch, dinner or e-connect? Maybe the program? Or possibly the meeting itself? Could it be the service project(s)? What about connectivity/networking/making friends? Was it the opportunity to be part of something much bigger than you or your Club … making a difference not only in your community but around the globe?
Whatever the reason may be … share it with others. Tell your friends, neighbors, work associates, fellow retirees what Rotary is all about! Invite them to join you for a meeting and discover for themselves. Encourage them to go with you to make a difference by participating in a service project.
Include, engage, inspire.
This is Rotary.
