Lake Brazos Rotary Club in Waco gave away two bikes at each of four elementary schools in Waco in December. Students are excited to compete for the bikes, one for a boy and one for a girl at each school.
All the students work eagerly to get their names into the drawings each semester by having perfect attendance. School administrators see a direct impact of this competition not just on the students' attendance, but their overall academic performance. This particular program has been adopted by other Rotary Clubs including Copperas Cove, Lewisville, and Plainview, as well as dozens of other clubs around the world.
