For many years Marble Falls Daybreak Rotary has been a supporter of the Open Door Recovery House, a local, residential, sober–living home for women who are rebuilding their lives and breaking the chains of addiction. Open Door has been very successful, providing a 65% to 80% non–recidivism rate each program year, over its 12 year tenure, for their successful participants.
One of their fundraisers is an annual 5K CommUnity Fun Run.

This annual, family oriented 5K Run/Walk was held on April 30, 2022.  From the youngest being pushed in strollers, to actual strollers, to competitive Teams, to the swiftest of runners, fun was had by all!

Marble Falls Daybreak Rotary President Becky Lange and Daybreak Rotarian Ed Cole participated in the 5K run/walk.
Daybreak Rotarians Buck Burdett and Marian Blake attended and supported this Fun Run.

Ed Cole, our Daybreak Rotarian Energizer Bunny, easily finished the 5K course at the age of 91! He also actively stomps the pavement every year looking for Sponsors for our annual Daybreak Rotary Sporting Clays Shoot, upcoming  on August 20, 2022!

Our Daybreak Rotary President Becky Lange joined Ed in the fun. She also serves on the Board of a similar local men’s recovery home, His Joshua House.

Marble Falls Daybreak Rotary PR Director, Marian Blake, is the current President of the Open Door Recovery House Board. She participated in preparing for the event and was the official photographer.
