Marble Falls Rotary Club presented the Wesley Respite Center a generous grant to the director, Allie Bennett, on behalf of the center. The theme for the day was “fishing.”
The volunteers and participants fished for sea creatures with a fishing pole and line with a magnet on the end. They often do activities that help bring back memories of their past.
The Wesley Respite Center is for participants who have the early stages of dementia who still live at home. They provide a FREE benefit to the community offering activities that include a program, games, exercise, lunch and singing. This gives families who take care of their loved one 24/7, an opportunity to have some time away and get some much-needed rest. The group meets at First Methodist Church of Marble Falls every Thursday, 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. They are taking applications now for participants and volunteers. Contact Allie Bennett, Director, at 512-639-2295 for more information.
