Justin Hay is a person of action. He has been a Rotarian since 2008.
Over the past thirteen years, he has served as Past President and as Secretary-Treasurer of the Marlin Rotary Club. Justin Hay is Vice President of First National Bank of Hughes Springs, Marlin, TX. Both Jay and his wife, Lesley Birkes, are from Marlin. Jay enjoys family time with their 3.5-year old son, Louise Keith, and time with friends.
Justin Hay has been selected by the members of the Rotary Club of Marlin to guide its affairs during the coming year. He has been entrusted with the important responsibility that will help shape the Marlin Rotary International Club’s future.

Rotary is where neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change - across the globe, in our communities, and in each member. Rotary unites more than 1.2 million persons and 35,000+ clubs.

Justin Hay’s leadership will steer the pursuit of the Object of Rotary through activities related to each Avenue of Service. Rotary's ideal of service is based on the Five Avenues of Service – Club, Vocational, Community, International and New Generations – that comprise Rotary International's philosophical cornerstone. Rotary clubs carry out efforts along each avenue in support of the Object of Rotary.

The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

Rotary Club guiding principles include the Four-way Test (Truth, Fairness, Goodwill, and Friendship). Other principles involve Rotary’s commitment to Service above Self, Rotary’s motto. Rotarians donate 16 million volunteer hours each year.

Rotary’s causes are Promoting Peace, Fighting Disease, Providing Clean Water, Saving Mothers & Children, Supporting Education, Growing Local Economies, and Protecting the Environment. For more than 110 years, Rotarians have bridged cultures and connected continents to champion peace, fight illiteracy and poverty, promote clean water and sanitation, and fight disease. Through Rotary’s efforts, 2.5 billion children have been immunized against polio. Last year, Marlin Rotarians spearheaded Rise Against Hunger and a commitment to collaborate to end world hunger by 2030. Marlin Rotarians provide MISD graduates with scholarships, book to the school library, clothing, personal accessories, and household goods to Mi Casa families. They have provided fans and air conditioning units as needed. Marlin Rotary Club members were part of a collaborative effort that facilitated the Remembering Our Fallen Tribute Towers exhibit in Marlin. It supports the Food for Families food drive. It contributes to numerous fundraising activities throughout this community. Club members provide valuable information to the community through its communications and publication efforts.

Marlin Rotary Club looks forward to planning and executing productive projects to meet needs of its community, here at home and abroad.

To Dr. Marlin Martin as outgoing Club President, he remarks, “Though you are retiring from the administration of the club, your continued active involvement and your expertise in this club is extremely important. Thank you for leaving a legacy of effectiveness, growth, and interest.”

Marlin Rotary Club meets at The Chicken Place every Wednesday at 12:00 noon.
