May I ask you a strange question? How many maroon trucks did you see on your way to your Rotary meeting last week? My guess is that you saw many maroon trucks, but they did not stand out to you because you were not looking for them.
If I asked you to count the maroon trucks you saw on your way to Rotary this week, you would be able to give me a specific number because you were looking for them. They stood out to you because you were focused on finding maroon trucks.
So, here is another strange question. How many prospective Rotarians did you meet last week? My guess, again, is that you saw many prospective Rotarians, but they did not stand out to you because you were not looking for them. If you focused on 3 or 4 vocation categories for prospective new members, you would probably begin to notice potential new Rotarians. Do you know any accountants who would be good Rotarians? Bankers? School administrators? The categories are limitless, so narrow your search to just a few vocations, and see what you begin to notice.
