There are two mental health topics observed in the month of October: First, October is National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month.
The goal of this observance is to bring awareness to depression and the need for accessible and affordable mental health screenings. Depression can be caused by a mix of environmental, genetic, psychological, and biological /biochemical components. Not everyone experiences depression in the same way, but it can affect anyone at any time. It is important to seek professional help and get screened if you or someone you care about feels they may be depressed. Depression is treatable, but a professional should be sought out to help determine the best course of action for the individual.

October is also ADHD Awareness Month. The goal of this observance is to provide reliable information and resources to help people thrive with ADHD.
