Twelve Members of the Rotary Club of Northwest Austin, including PDG Jim Henry, assembled on Monday afternoon, March 8, at Springwoods Park in Northwest Austin, to prepare 21 FiT Kits for distribution at two Round Rock ISD schools.  Josh Reeley, Vice President of Youth Services for the Rotary Club of Northwest Austin, organized the effort, funded by a District 5870 DAP Grant.
The FiT (Families in Transition) Kits are designed to provide food to RRISD elementary school children and teen students whose families are “food insecure”, during extended holidays when the schools are closed (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break).  Round Rock ISD identifies candidates for the supplies, and the school counselors distribute the supplies to the students prior to the holidays.  This year marks the second year in a row that RCNWA has funded this effort with a DAP Grant from District 5870.
