Last weekend the Austin Hotel Lodging Association along with the Rotary Clubs of Austin and Killeen in partnership with the Greater Austin Restaurant Association did just that-took care of a soldier’s family from Ft. Hood and the soldier got to go along, too and share in the fun.

First they received a rent car from the Killeen Toyota Dealership and drove to Austin where they were greeted by a Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Austin, Mary Reynolds. She gave the family some gift bags full of toys and games for the kids and gift cards and snacks for the whole family. The hotel, Hyatt Place North Central gave them two adjoining rooms for two nights since they had three children ages four, five and fifteen and hosted them for all their meals. The family had a chance to have some quality family time as they explored Austin on their own agenda with no orders or rigid schedules and ended their day on Saturday with a family BBQ hosted by the County L:ine on the Lake with all the trimmings. Then to top off this fabulous weekend they had park passes to Austin Parks and Pizza furnished by Super Shuttle. So I would say that was a pretty good way to take care of Sgt. Jeremy Sisk’s family after nine years of service in the Army and to thank him for his dedicated service to us and to his country.
