The Rotary Clubs of Austin and Killeen hosted a military family from Ft. Cavazos, SGt. Divine Jack, his wife Nina who is also an Army soldier and their three kids. The Rotary Club of Killeen arranged for a rent car from Killeen Toyota for the weekend along with gas money.
The Rotary Club of Austin filled a backpack of goodies for each family member( toys, games, fast food gift cards, passes to Dave & Buster’s along with snacks and drinks. ) The Doubletree Hilton under the direction of James Prendeville provided a complimentary weekend in Austin with breakfast including each morning. The County Line on the Hill put on a family BBQ dinner “Texas style” on Saturday night. The family had a great time according to Sgt. Jack and they appreciated all the positive atmosphere in Austin. This project is our way to thank our military and live the Service Above Self motto of Rotary.
