On Thursday, 3 March, The Flatonia Rotary Club celebrated Early Act First Knight.  EAFK is a character building program for grades Pre-K through 5th, and has been sponsored by The Rotary Club of Flatonia since 2017. There are 5 ceremonies held annually at the Flatonia Elementary School.

EAFK was developed by Knights of the Guild, an educational subsidiary of The Randall Parr Organization, Inc., and partners with individual Clubs of Rotary International. Guest speakers Randall and Amber Parr (Lady Amber), spoke of the lasting qualities in the students after participating in the program and the knighting ceremonies, and learning  the Rotary tradition of "Service Above Self".

"Early Act First Knight creatively develops character and inspires young people to improve self awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, social responsibility, and responsible decision making.  These enhancements will soon have a positive influence upon the entirety of campus culture,” exclaimed Randall Parr.
After the meeting, Flatonia Rotary met at Flatonia Elementary School to support Lady Amber and students who were awarded for their noble deeds for the past 6 weeks.  At the conclusion, Lady Amber knighted Rotarian Stu Mica, who has been the EAFK Rotary coordinator since 2017.
