Abhishek Padmanabhuni, one of the newest members of the Austin Cosmopolitan Rotary Club was recently featured in the October edition of the Rotary magazine.
The article discusses the importance of blood stem cell donation, awareness, and how BeTheMatch (a Minneapolis non-profit) has been working to bridge the gap between blood cancer patients and potential donors. Abhishek donated his stem cells in Feb 2021 in San Antonio, TX during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and helped a fellow Indian from surviving cancer. He learned about the stem cell donation process through a vocational services webinar when he joined a webinar hosted by the Rotary Club of Silicon Andhra (Dist 5170).
