Flatonia Rotary members are taking action to raise awareness, funds, and support to end polio, a vaccinepreventable disease that still threatens children in parts of the world today. With polio nearly eradicated, Rotary and its partners must sustain this progress and continue to reach every child with the polio vaccine. Without full funding and political commitment, this paralyzing disease could return to polio-free countries, putting children everywhere at risk.

The Rotary Club of Flatonia were ambassadors for the “End Polio Now” campaign. To help the fight against polio, a fundraiser, Pints For Polio, was held in downtown Flatonia, on Saturday, 8 March 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Rotary Club of Flatonia hosted a Pints For Polio Pub Walk Fundraiser at Edna’s Kitchenette, Henry K’s, and Red Vault Bistro in Downtown Flatonia, Texas. Pre-sale tickets were $25, and $30 at the door, included a pint glass, 3 drink tickets and a chance to win door prizes. The event was a great evening of community fellowship, raising funds for “End Polio Now”, and being a part of history.
All proceeds from the ticket sales were given to Rotary’s Polio Plus and were matched 2:1 thanks to the generous support of the Gates Foundation and a 1:1 match by the World Fund. Over $800 was raised this year and over $8,800 in the previous Pints For Polio fundraisers, which totals almost $30,000 with the World Fund and Gates Foundation matches, to support global polio eradication efforts.
