Eight Rotary clubs in the Greater Killeen area joined forces with the Killeen Fire Department to help local seniors stay safe during the summer heat. The Rotary Clubs of Harker Heights, Temple, Temple South, Killeen, Killeen Heights, Belton, E-Club of Central and Copperas Cove partnered on the Fans for Seniors project, collecting and distributing 417 box fans—surpassing their original goal of 300 fans.
The collaborative effort grew from conversations at the Presidents-Elect Training Seminar (PETS), where club leaders committed to working together on projects that make a lasting impact in their communities. Firefighters helped identify seniors most in need and assisted with distributing the fans throughout the area.
By combining resources and volunteers, the five clubs demonstrated the power of collaboration and Rotary's commitment to Service Above Self. Together, they not only exceeded their fundraising goal but also helped hundreds of seniors stay cooler and safer during the hottest months of the year.
