More than 300 Rotarians and their friends showed up at the Bastrop Convention Center on November 23, 2019, to celebrate the Bastrop Club’s annual Men Who Cook fundraiser.  2019’s theme was “Men Who Cook - International Edition”, and each chef chose a dish from a different country’s cuisine to prepare.
For the ninth year, 18 chef’s teams provided appetizers, entrees, and desserts for a hungry crowd.  Rotarians and their guests enjoyed dishes from both the Old and the New World, as well as Scandinavia.

The Club organized Silent and Live Auctions as part of the fundraising, with an auctioneer to keep the bidding active.  Live Auction goodies ranged from chockful Yeti coolers to a week in a Gulf Coast beach house.

Twenty dollars bought you an opportunity to vie for a “Date Week” package by playing a game of Heads or Tails. Funds raised from this game were ear-marked to aid the Feed the Need organization which had recently had its mobile kitchen facility stolen.

Other than the “Fund-a-Need” game, 2019 Men Who Cook proceeds will support the Bastrop Club’s projects in the 2020-2021 year, including a shelter village for the homeless; children’s advocacy and support groups throughout Bastrop County, Bastrop County Cares Coalition Against Human Trafficking, RYLA, and other community needs.
