Through our Operation Vacation project, the Rotary Club of Austin and Killeen hosted SPC Marc Rivera and his wife Josephine Cardenas and their two little dogs stationed at Ft. Cavazos for a weekend at the Aiden Hotel by Best Western in South Austin.
The Rotary Club of Austin arranged a complimentary two night stay with breakfast, gift cards for several fast food restaurant, passes to Austin Parks and Pizza and a bag full of gifts and snacks. The Killeen Rotary Club arranged a rent car and gas money. This project was started over twenty years ago to host a soldier and their family once a month to thank them for their service. It also gives them quality time with their loved ones. The Killeen Rotary Club also arranged a rent car and gas money for the couple.
