During these fun summer months, the Rotary Clubs of Austin & Killeen had an opportunity to host a military family for the weekend through Operation Vacation-Ft. Hood at the Aiden Best Western@ Austin hotel.
The family, E-7 Alex Tyerman and his wife and two children enjoyed a luxury suite for two nights, all their meals, pool fun and free time to explore Austin. It is rare that these families have much quality time with their families while serving their country. They were also hosted by the staff of the County Line on the Hill for a fantastic Saturday night BBQ dinner with all the trimmings. Toyota Killeen provided them with a rent car and The Rotary Club of Killeen gave them gas money.
The family enjoyed a Sunday afternoon of fun at Austin Parks. Rotary Club of Austin put together back packs of goodies and gift cards for the family to thank them for their service. This is one of Rotary’s most rewarding service projects. Mary Reynolds VP of Community Service.
