The Rotary Club of Austin-Southwest partnered with the S.W. Travis County Rural Community Center to help supply coats for the children of their clients for Christmas.
Although the collection of as many gently used coats was hampered somewhat by COVID-19 restrictions, members of our club delivered coats and goodie bags supplied by the Travis County Sheriff’s department’s Brown Santa to the trunks of happy residents of the area.
This Rotary Club became involved in this effort several years ago when it became known that clients from the far reaches of Travis County were not able to travel all the way to central Austin where the major Coats for Kids handout occurred. So, an effort focusing on SW Travis County people in need was organized.
