Choose one (1) student to apply for the CTES and inform them of your decision.

Request access to online application via the “endorsement form” on the D5870 website, and then forward that link to the nominee. Deadline is March 23, 2026.

In Feb-March invite your nominee for another consultation meeting. Highlight the deadline for the application. Deadline is April 4, 2026.

Cover the District website and where to find the information and the pages in the Handbook that pertain to the students.

Also go over the timeline for each step, samples of approved expenses, their budget for the coming year, and the requirements by the Club and by the students if chosen to receive the District 5870 CTES.

(Optional, but elevating) In March/April hold a mock interview via Zoom with the student to help prepare them for the upcoming District CTES interviews with the D5870 Scholarship Committee on April 19, 2026.

If your nominee is selected to be a recipient, your club is required to add at least $250 to the scholarship.

Invite all your scholarship recipient and their parents, as guests, to your first meeting in June to celebrate them.

And then it’s August and the next school year begins!
