The Rotary Club of Georgetown has found a meaningful way to make every weekly guest speaker part of something bigger. Last week, Executive Secretary Myra delivered more than 70 books to Annie Purl Elementary School—each one signed by one of our club’s guest speakers and donated to the school library for students to enjoy for years to come.

But we weren’t done! Myra also presented the school with a $1,000 check to purchase new books, which will make their way to our weekly meetings to be signed by future speakers before joining the library’s collection.

Our club has been donating signed books to Annie Purl for years, and it’s a tradition we truly treasure. We love the relationship we’ve built with the school, and our guest speakers love knowing that their visit to Rotary leaves behind something lasting for a local child. One speaker.

One signature. One more book in the hands of a young reader.
