Many of us joined Rotary in order to network.  That’s the way my sponsor sold Rotary to me, “You’ll get to meet lots of businessmen who can help you out.”

It was only several years later after I was introduced to our Foundation, and learned what Rotary does in the world, did I become a Rotarian, committed to providing service to others, promoting integrity, and advancing world understanding, goodwill, and peace.

If you’re going to a Rotary meeting once a week simply for the local fellowship, you’re missing out on the majesty of Rotary.
What Is a Rotarian?  A Rotarian a person who ….
• digs wells from which he or she will never drink...
• vaccinates children he or she will never meet...
• restores eyesight for those he or she will never see...
• builds housing he or she will never live in...
• educates children he or she will never know...
• plants trees he or she will never sit under...
• feeds hungry people regardless of their color, race or politics...
• makes crawlers into walkers halfway around the world...
• knows real happiness can only be found by serving others!
