Rotary District 5870 Central Texas District Governor Bob Crouch share his message for March discussing our new Spring Points Match (for contributing to the Annual Fund) and celebrating Rotary women on International Women's Day on March 8th with our social media campaign (how you can participate).   
PDG Harry B. Macey Jr. Memorial Match

In memory of his lifetime of service to Rotary, District 5870 is conducting a 2-month matching contribution drive to help support the charity Harry worked so hard to promote - The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. 

So, for a limited time starting on March 1, 2024, District 5870 will do the following:

Celebrate International Women's Day with Rotary
This International Women's Day, March 8, 2024 let's come together to celebrate the incredible strength, resilience, and achievements of women worldwide! We invite all Rotarian women to participate in our special campaign by sharing a photo of themselves proudly wearing their Rotary shirts. Let's showcase the power and unity of women within the Rotary family!
How to Participate:
  1. Put on your favorite Rotary shirt and Rotary (Women in Rotary) pin.
  2. Strike a pose that reflects your strength and passion.
  3. Snap a photo and share it on your social media with the hashtags #1DistrictStrong #RotaryWomenRock #WomenInRotary
  4. Share it with the District ( so we too can promote District 5870 Women in Rotary! 
Engage With Others Who Share Your Passion by Joining a Rotary Fellowship Group 
Rotary Fellowships are internationally organized affinity groups that unite Rotary members and friends around a shared hobby, identity, vocation, or culture. Rotary’s 100+ Fellowships offer our members and their friends meaningful experiences by providing fun and diverse ways of participating in Rotary and offering them opportunities for connection with like-minded individuals through in-person and online experiences.
Rotary Insurance Carrier Changed
Effective, 1 January 2024, the insurance broker of the U.S. Rotary Club & District Liability Insurance Program ("U.S. Club Program") is now the Hylant Group.

February Environment Minute - Carry a Reusable Water Bottle
Not only are reusable water bottles better for the planet, they are better for your wallet. The average American can save $1,350 a year using a refillable water bottle rather than constantly buying disposables adding to environmental stressors. 
Rotary Club of Austin Camp Enterprise Winners
The Rotary Club of Austin sponsors an entrepreneur camp for junior high school students in Austin. During the three day weekend students from different high schools are put into teams and have to design a business plan for a product they create.  They then present it to the Rotary members who help them finalize the parts of their business plan. 
High School Career Day 
The Marble Falls Rotary Club held its annual Career Day on Thursday January 25th. Well over 150 Junior Level high school students participated. It was all hands-on deck for the entire club as students got to choose between 26 different occupational areas.
Giving Back to Educators 
On the 100th day of school, the Austin Westlake Rotary Club chose two deserving educators to each receive $50 gifts for their dedication and service to Eanes ISD students. They honored Special Ed teachers Kelsi Sands of Forest Trail Elementary and Olivia Uecker of Valley View Elementary. 
Killeen Rotary Completes DAP Grant at Free Clinic
In a significant stride towards improving healthcare services in West Bell County, the Killeen Rotary Club has successfully finalized their DAP Grant project. The focal point of this initiative was the installation of door signs at The Killeen Free Clinic, a move aimed at facilitating easier navigation for visitors.
Living Leander Community Expo 
The Rotary Club of Cedar Park Leander joined the Living Leander Community Expo event to network and create partnerships with businesses and leaders around the community. 
Westlake Celebrates 119 Years of Service!
On February 23, 2024, Austin Westlake Rotary packed 100 bags of 15 different toiletries to donate Mobile Loaves and Fishes in support of Austin’s homeless population. We also celebrated the day with cupcakes and a birthday song.
Austin Partners with Rise Against Hunger to 
Feed those In Need
The Rotary Club of Austin hosted the Rise Against Hunger project Saturday at Casa Chapala to package dry food meals to be boxed and shipped to international countries to free the hungry.  There were six other Austin Rotary Clubs that came to help by bringing their members, families and friends to work this fun but extremely important global project. Rotary Service Above Self.
In February E Club teamed with two special partners, Go! Retail and Bookspring to provide books to children through Central Texas school libraries and reading groups. Education is vital and we are excited to promote reading for all ages. 
Austin Westlake Collaborates with WHS Interact Club
On February 18, Rotary Club Austin Westlake joined forces with Westlake High School Interact to install a Little Free Library complete with books in the Austin area.
Operation Vacation Ft.Cavazos
The Rotary Club of Austin created a program many years ago to thank our military for their service. It is called Operation Vacation. In cooperation with Rotary Club of Austin & Killeen Rotary, the base selects a family to spend a complimentary weekend at one of our Austin Hotel. This is PV2 Daemon Hendley and his wife Elayna with the General Manager of the Sonesta Bee Caves Austin Hill Country Hotel, Britt Udemi, one of our hospitality partners that makes this weekend possible. 
Caldwell Rotary Honors Past Presidents 
The Caldwell Rotary Club invited and honored all living past club presidents at a special luncheon on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Each president that attended was asked to share his or her favorite project or memory from their presidency.
Feed My Starving Children MobilePack
The Rotary Club of Cedar Park - Leander volunteered to pack nutritious MannaPack meals distributed worldwide by Feed My Starving Children-Richardson ( Feed My Starving Children is a nonprofit dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit.
McGregor Rotary Pancake Supper Funds Scholarships
The McGregor Rotary Club has a successful Pancake Supper every February to raise the monies needed for their projects through the Rotary year, including scholarships for local students looking to further their education.
Flatonia Rotary Rise Against Hunger Event 
The Rotary Clubs of Flatonia and La Grange and the Flatonia Lions Club came together to partner with Rise Against Hunger on Saturday, 27 January 2024, at the Flatonia Civic Center, Flatonia. This Rise Against Hunger Experience provided a fun, educational way for Flatonia and La Grange to literally lend a hand to people facing hunger across the globe.
Lake Brazos Rotary Club Fundraiser
Join Lake Brazos Rotary Club on Saturday, March 23rd at their annual fundraiser. This year at Together by the Brazos, they will wine and dine you while raising funds to support all their projects for the year including hunger abatement for food-insecure children at many local schools.
Waco Rotary Club's Annual Rotary Challenge
Waco Rotary Club 57th Annual Rotary Challenge brings students from all over Central Texas to vie for a monetary award for their school. Competitors from near and far came to compete in the challenge.
Waco Sunrise Rotary Club partners with Isaiah 117 House
Waco Sunrise Rotary Club has agreed to partner with the Isaiah 117 House in Waco in many ways to help them support children in crisis, removed from their homes under indescribable circumstances until they can be placed with foster families. Their annual golf tournament has helped to support many worthy projects through the years and their partnership with the Isaiah 117 House will go a long way to make a huge impact on the community and a tremendous difference in the lives of many children at a critical time of their lives.
McGregor Interact Helps With Annual McGregor Rotary Club Annual Fundraiser
More than twenty Rotary Interactors from McGregor High School's eighty-strong club, attended the annual McGregor Rotary Club's Pancake Supper, helping in many capacities to help in their fundraiser which supports many community projects including scholarships that are available for McGregor students to apply for. It's great to see such a vibrant group of young adults can do to better their community.
