Happy New Year!
As we enter 2023, I want to thank you for an amazing first half of the year. This year, we have embraced the opportunity to "Imagine Rotary" and have already accomplished so much. If you support our Rotary Foundation Annual Fund, you have played a key role in funding the following District 5870 2022-23 projects:
Todd Smith Selected DG 2025-26

It is my honor and privilege to officially declare Todd Smith, from the Rotary Club of Georgetown, our District Governor-Designate. Todd will become District Governor-Nominee on July 1, 2023 and serve as our Governor in the 2025-26 Rotary year.

Todd is a great Rotarian who will serve our district well. Please join me in congratulating Todd on being selected as our 111th District Governor.

Public Image Training Seminar - January 14

Strengthening Membership Through Education
Did you know that our Rotary District 5870 is a participating member of the Lone Star Division of Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI)?  This is an excellent program for Rotarians and Rotaractors to deepen their knowledge of Rotary programs.

NW Austin December Rotarian of the Month

Sun City Rotarians Enjoy A Holiday to Remember Event
Rotarians in Sun City enjoyed a special performance on Tuesday, Dec. 6 from the Encore Show Choir from Georgetown High School in Georgetown, TX.
Books For Me

The Rotary Club of Austin members spent the day handing out free books to the students at Pecan Springs Elementary for Books for Me. This program is arranged by BookSpring to help children build their own home library. 

Corsicana Rotary Club Participates in the 175th Celebration Parade
Corsicana Rotary Club participated in Corsicana's 175 Celebration Christmas Parade.
Breakfast with Santa Program Feeds and Sustains Families in the Georgetown Community
Breakfast with Santa returned to Georgetown on Saturday, Dec. 17 after a two-year break during the pandemic. More than 800 people showed up at the community center in San Gabriel Park to enjoy pancakes and sausage served by members of the Georgetown Fire Department and take pictures with Santa.

Marble Falls Rotary Elves Help Blue Santa
Operation Blue Santa came to a close last week with Marble Falls Police Department and the Marble Falls Rotary Club joining forces for the final collection push at the public safety facility, 606 Avenue N. Pictured are: MFPD representatives as well as Rotarians, from left, Kim Kankel, Tammy Hafner, Fran Brochstein, Tammie Sander, Ellen Ely, Joe Don Dockery, Blue Santa (Officer Josh French), Fire Chief Russell Sander and Police Chief Glenn Hanson. Toys were distributed on December 17th.

Rotary supporting Helping Hand Home for over 100 years
The Rotary Club of Austin members look forward to our annual Helping Hand Home  Rotary Christmas Party. We have been doing this Rotary signature project for over 100 years.
Rotary Operation Vacation December 2022
The Rotary Clubs of Austin and Killeen hosted a military family from Ft. Hood in Austin this weekend. They were provided complimentary  accommodations from the Hilton Garden Inn on downtown Austin.  The County Line on the lake provided a special BBQ dinner for the Rondazzo family of six. 
Spurs jerseys make a special  Christmas for students and teachers  at Pecan Springs in East Austin 
The Rotary Club of Austin were gifted 500 San Antonio Spurs jerseys from their Sports League  by the Rotary Club of San Antonio to brighter kid’s Christmas.
