District 5870 Rotarians: Yes, the year 2020 is finally behind us. What a tough year right? I could list all the Rotary events effected by Covid-19 or the Club visits that had to be rescheduled. We were all effected in one way or another. However, it has been said by many, "The only time to look backward is to see how far you have come." I like it. Let’s do that:

The Rotary Clubs of Austin-Southwest and South Austin joined forces to build a 54-foot wheelchair ramp in conjunction with Texas Ramp Project of Travis County.
The Rotary Club of Austin-Southwest partnered with the S.W. Travis County Rural Community Center to help supply coats for the children of their clients for Christmas.

Monday, 14 December was absolutely a spectacular evening with 16 Killeen Heights Rotary Club members and 6 guests for a total of 22 participants caroling at the Rosewood Retirement Community for the 37 residents from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
Amidst a myriad of different Rotary Club activities, a Christmas parade is a new No. 1. The Marlin Christmas Parade 2020 theme was “Spirit Of Christmas.”
The Global Grant Scholarship Committee chaired by Katherine Logue of the RC of Waco met in December to interview four candidates. Candidates came from the RC’s of Waco, Austin, and Killeen Heights. All candidates were very qualified.
Calling all Public Image ROCKSTARS!! The first level of the PUBLIC IMAGE ALL-STAR CHALLENGE is all about strengthening your Club brand. For Level 1 - submit your Club's Rotary Master Branded Logo (most of you already have this) and a Club #Hashtag.
Each year, Rotary awards up to 130 fully funded fellowships for leaders from around the world to study at our peace centers to become peacemakers. Your club can nominate one of these leaders.
The Rotary Club of La Grange has been busy spreading some holiday cheer! They collected gifts and almost $2000 in monetary donations from members for the Fayette County Child Welfare Board. These gifts will go to local children currently in foster care or in placements with family members.
