In recognition of World Polio Day, Caldwell Rotary invited a dear friend to us all, Mrs. Betty Suehs, a polio survivor, to speak at a meeting during October . She shared her memories and what her mother and father had to do during her sickness . She spent 12 days in an iron lung We were all moved by her story!

Rotary Club of Austin-Southwest was excited to help El Buen Samaritano “Hands for Hope”Thanksgiving food distribution again. The holiday meal distribution event was held on Saturday, November 18th. 1,000 families in our community were given a holiday meal kit containing a frozen turkey, sides, and a pie for them to prepare with their families at home.
On Sunday, November 26, the Rotary Club of Lakeway/Lake Travis presented a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Touring Edition minivan to Adults Independent and Motivated (AIM), which will use the vehicle to transport adults with disabilities who are part of its program to work and other activities.
The Killeen Heights Rotary Food Drive, held on November 17th, culminated in resounding success, echoing the community's generosity and compassion. Participants rallied, resulting in a remarkable achievement— an impressive $5,000 alongside numerous food donations.
On Saturday, November 11, ten ACRC club members and several guests joined us at Sunshine Community Gardens for our Pocket Prairie project. We dug up turf grass near the entrance to the garden and laid the groundwork for beds of native wildflowers and other pollinator-friendly plant species.
